Jerusalem - Restoration works for the Khalidi Library endowment property, located on (Bab As-silsila) Chain Gate Street adjacent to Al-Buraq Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City, experienced a temporary suspension due to objections by settlers, which resulted in a work stoppage order issued by the Israeli municipal authorities.
The building is considered a landmark of high historical and architectural value and holds special importance within the urban fabric of the Old City.
Following intensive follow-up and coordination efforts, approval was granted to resume restoration works on the project, and implementation is currently continuing despite ongoing challenges and field difficulties.
