Continuation of the Rehabilitation Project of the Historic Jenin Municipal Library

Jenin - Restoration and rehabilitation works at the historic Jenin Municipal Library building are continuing under the Old Cities Revitalization Program at Taawon (Welfare Association). In recent weeks, a number of preparatory works have been completed at the site, including the installation of scaffolding along the library’s facades and the removal of deteriorated and damaged mortar joints, in accordance with the approved plans and in a manner that preserves the building’s historic character.

Work has continued despite the presence of certain technical challenges, with available tasks being carried out to ensure that progress on the project is maintained.

In the coming period, works are expected to continue with repointing works, along with the preparation and submission of material samples for approval in accordance with the technical specifications. In addition, waterproofing works for the tiled roof will proceed, paving the way for the subsequent phases of the restoration project.

The project aims to rehabilitate the Jenin Municipal Library building as one of the city’s most prominent historical landmarks, preserving its architectural and heritage value while strengthening its cultural and public role for future generations, within a broader vision for revitalizing the Old City and activating its urban center.
