Vital Projects Continue to Support the Resilience of Jerusalemites and Preserve the Heritage of the Old City of Jerusalem

Jerusalem - Work continues on a number of vital projects in the Old City of Jerusalem as part of an integrated plan aimed at supporting the resilience of local residents and improving their living conditions, while also preserving the city’s architectural and religious heritage.

Key ongoing projects include:

-Residential Units: Work is currently underway on four residential units, which will benefit four Jerusalemite families living in the Old City of Jerusalem.

-Public Projects: Ongoing works include the conversion of the Al-Jabsha building into an educational facility, which will serve the local community in the future. In addition, a waqf tender related to the Khalidi Library, a historic and prominent cultural landmark, has been launched. Work is also continuing on the second phase of the Qameem Square project, implemented in cooperation with the Burj Al-Laqlaq Social Center Society, aiming to transform the area into a safe space for community activities.

These projects are being implemented with generous funding from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and aim to strengthen the stability of Jerusalemite families, preserve the social and cultural fabric of the Old City, and rehabilitate vital facilities that serve the local community in the heart of Jerusalem.
